D&AD The Body Shop brief
My contemporary designs
Existing Designs
I was asked to design a contemporary range of packaging for certain bodyshop products, these were: Tea Tree, Body Butter, White Musk and Foundation. As bodyshop use organic and natural ingredients in their products I decided to change the shape of the Tea Tree and White Musk to an organic shape to give us more of a feel of the product as my new shapes were more organic. The Tea Tree bottle was intended to capture the shape of a Tea Tree leaf and the White Musk shape was to look like a bud of a lily just about to open.
I used splashes of paint and line drawings to give us the contemporary feel, also the natural splashes represent the natural background of the products. I have decided to keep the existing material of PETE plastic for the bottles as it is the best type of plastic for recycling. The brown labels will be made out of brown recycled paper, the reason for brown and not white is because it is more efficient to recycle than white paper because it doesn't contain the bleach which white paper does.
